Dominion Virginia Power is one of the nation's 10 largest investor-owned electric utilities. It delivers power to more than 2 million homes and businesses in Virginia and North Carolina and are active nationally in wholesale power sales and energy services. Their service area spans an economically healthy region from Northern Virginia to northeastern North Carolina.
In Virginia, the company trades under the name Dominion Virginia Power. The Virginia service area comprises about 65 percent of Virginia's total land area, but accounts for over 80 percent of its population.
