General Description
Southeastern Public Service Authority is a regional waste management authority. Through recycling and other programs, SPSA helps preserve natural resources, reducing the amount of raw materials harvested from the earth and minimizing our dependence on landfills. SPSA's oil and household hazardous waste disposal programs help keep rivers, lakes and groundwater cleaner. Through the innovative use of yard waste recycled into Nature's Blend Mulch and Compost, SPSA helps protect and beautify our surroundings.

SPSA's business services like its waste-to-energy power plant annually turns 600,000 tons of refuse into steam and electricity for big businesses who support the environment in a big way.

SPSA's shared goals are:
- Maintain and enhance customer service focus
- Operate efficiently and effectively
- Maintain a culture where employees are motivated and productive
- Continue to be fiscally responsible
- Maintain and enhance trust and confidence in the organization

In April 2005, SPSA received ISO 14001 certification as an organization, which we view as independent confirmation of what we have said time and again: SPSA cares for the environment.
